This foundation is committed to enhancing the well-being of many children and youth by linking them to experiences and support systems that gives them a sense of belonging to help reach the youth's full potential.
Even in tough times, opportunities can change a kid's life. With support from donors, volunteers, and community partners, the Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington helps kids access food programs, sports and activities, mental health support, educational support, and holiday assistance, all of which gives them space to grow and discover their full potential.
More than 3,000 volunteers help them make a real impact. When you support the Children’s Foundation, you’re investing in stronger kids, stronger families, and a stronger community. Here, opportunity always shines brighter than hardship.
Adopt-A-Family: Connects families in need with donors who provide gifts and grocery cards during the holiday season. Families are referred by local agencies across Guelph and Wellington County. Originally a Christmas program, AAF now supports families of all backgrounds and traditions, helping make the holidays brighter for kids, teens, and parents alike.
Food Security: More and more kids in our community are going hungry, and many families struggle to cover basics like rent and groceries. The Children’s Foundation has joined with Food4Kids Guelph to create Keep Kids Fed, a program that helps kids stay fed both at school and at home, on weekends, holidays, and school days.
Free To Grow: The Free to Grow Program helps kids and teens stay active, learn new skills, and grow emotionally and socially. It covers activities like sports, arts, camps, driver’s training, leadership programs, and mental health counselling.
Educational Support: As of January 2024, the Children’s Foundation will no longer offer post-secondary scholarships. This decision allows them to focus on programs that have a bigger impact on kids’ education earlier in life. They continue to support learning through initiatives like Free to Grow, which funds tutoring and early literacy programs to help children succeed in school.
